## Context

Workspace-specific Databricks URLs were difficult to memorize, share, and brand. As customers added more workspaces, users faced repeated logins when switching between them, accumulating bookmarks, and lacking an obvious account-wide home for features such as Genie.

## Approach / What changed

Custom URLs provide one branded, account-level domain for all workspaces. A shared account session verifies access and creates workspace sessions as users move between them, while existing authorization boundaries and per-workspace URLs remain intact. Account admins can claim a URL, enable it, and optionally activate automatic redirects from legacy workspace URLs.
