The ESPR makes traceability mandatory, standardized, and machine-readable for growing product groups sold into the EU, while requiring lifecycle accuracy, supplier data, tiered access, and operator accountability.

## Approach / What changed

The proposed operator-side architecture uses Databricks components for operational passport lookups, supplier data ingestion, lineage, access control, analytics, AI enrichment, consumer and supplier applications, and governed data sharing. The open Digital Product Passport Solution Accelerator provides a deployable battery-passport reference implementation with mine-to-pack traceability, tiered access, a consumer viewer, a supplier portal, and synthetic data.
