### [The Rider 2026.3 Early Access Program Is Open](https://yomu.fyi/post/the-rider-2026-3-early-access-program-is-open.md)
- Company: [Jetbrains](https://yomu.fyi/company/jetbrains.md)
- Author: Alexander Kurakin
- Published: Sep 7, 2026
- Type: Announcement

Rider 2026.3’s first Early Access build is available through the website and Toolbox App, introducing updates for editing, debugging, plugin discovery, code completion, and test coverage. Rainbow brackets color matching pairs by nesting level, helping with deeply nested code; the option is disabled by default and can be enabled under Settings | Editor | General | Appearance. Data breakpoints can now be created by right-clicking an editor variable or through the Breakpoints tool window, while retaining read/write access, conditions, logging, validation, and other options. Bundled game-development plugins are grouped under a new Game Development category, with a matching JetBrains Marketplace tag, and completion suggestions can be narrowed or hidden using icon-based filters. Rider’s dotCover integration adds coverage for TUnit tests when JetBrains.dotCover.Framework is installed, with Microsoft.Testing.Platform 2.3.0 or later required.

### [How MCP Toolbox turns agent text into ClickHouse vectors](https://yomu.fyi/post/how-mcp-toolbox-turns-agent-text-into-clickhouse-vectors.md)

MCP Toolbox for Databases addresses the gap between an AI agent’s text queries and ClickHouse’s SQL and vector interfaces by translating text into embeddings for both ingestion and search. A flat YAML configuration declares a Gemini embedding model, associates parameters with it through embeddedBy, inserts content and vectors, and ranks matches with ClickHouse’s cosineDistance function; the agent receives ranked rows without handling vectors. The post walks through installation, prebuilt ClickHouse tools, custom tools, toolsets, and an end-to-end synthetic-corpus run using Toolbox 1.9.0 and ClickHouse Cloud 26.4.1. At the demonstrated 57-row scale, search uses exact O(n) brute force because the HNSW index adds overhead, while larger datasets can use approximate search. Limitations include Gemini-only embeddings, a hardcoded SEMANTIC\_SIMILARITY task type, opt-in REST endpoints, and restart-required configuration changes.

### [Grab your up to HK$100 ride offer](https://yomu.fyi/post/grab-your-up-to-hk-100-ride-offer.md)

An Uber page dated September 2, 2026 is titled “Grab your up to HK$100 ride offer.” It is categorized under Promotions and Ride, indicating that the page concerns a ride-related promotional offer. The visible content does not state the offer’s eligibility requirements, validity period, locations, redemption process, number of trips, or other terms. It also does not provide a result, such as the number of riders reached or the savings delivered. The surrounding page identifies Uber ride services and links to related ride content, including a car seat FAQ, comparisons among Uber Black, chauffeur, and limo services, and city-specific rental guides, but none of those entries adds conditions or details to the HK$100 offer.

### [Understanding W8A8 INT8 LLM quantization: Half the size, better performance, same accuracy](https://yomu.fyi/post/understanding-w8a8-int8-llm-quantization-half-the-size-better-performa.md)

Serving Llama 3.1 8B in BF16 requires roughly 14.9 GB for weights, leaving little VRAM on a 16 GB GPU for KV cache and activations, which limits practical deployment. The workflow benchmarks the base model, applies INT8 W8A8 quantization with llm-compressor, then repeats accuracy and performance tests under identical hardware and load conditions. SmoothQuant modifies weights to reduce activation outliers, while GPTQ uses calibration data and error compensation before rounding weights to INT8; the experiment used 512 WikiText-2 samples and targeted deployment with vLLM. On the Llama 3.1 8B Instruct model, compression reduced storage from 14.9 GB to 8.0 GB, a 46% reduction, and accuracy was preserved across MMLU, ARC, HellaSwag, and IFeval; generation-speed results are reserved for part 2.

### [Red Hat Developer Hub software template authoring with rhdh-templates](https://yomu.fyi/post/red-hat-developer-hub-software-template-authoring-with-rhdh-templates.md)
- Company: [Red Hat](https://yomu.fyi/company/red-hat.md)

Red Hat Developer Hub software template authors often face Nunjucks syntax, uncertain location.yaml placement, and errors discovered only after rendering in the developer portal. The rhdh-templates skill in the RHDH Users Skill Pack equips an AI assistant with RHDH and Backstage conventions, Nunjucks helpers, schema checks, reference templates, and local validation. After installation, it can scaffold repositories, guide interactive parameterization of existing codebases, add template parameters and Scaffolder steps, generate location.yaml, and check templates offline before merge. With an optional reachable RHDH instance, the skill can list active actions, read their schemas, and dry-run execution against the API; the walkthrough uses the Quarkus getting-started quick start and reports a clean validation run as the readiness signal.

### [Reference architecture for HA scanning with Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes](https://yomu.fyi/post/reference-architecture-for-ha-scanning-with-red-hat-advanced-cluster-s.md)
- Company: [Red Hat](https://yomu.fyi/company/red-hat.md)
- Author: Johannes Malsam
- Published: Sep 7, 2026
- Type: Problem & solution

Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes exposes an image-scanning API through Central, but upgrades and restarts can interrupt CI/CD pipelines. The reference architecture uses two independent Central Service instances—primary and failover—with separate databases, scanner deployments, and namespaces, plus a client-side script that probes the primary’s health endpoint before each scan and falls back when needed. Operators install the failover instance, duplicate image registry integrations and build-time policies, configure CI authentication, and pause reconciliation on the failover Central custom resource while upgrading the primary, then resume it to upgrade the second instance. This avoids scan API unavailability during the staged upgrade process, but failover caches are cold, requiring temporarily longer scans and additional registry traffic. The instances do not synchronize databases, caches, configuration, or vulnerability updates, and the design does not provide general-purpose HA for secured cluster services or delegated scanning.

### [What if Stripe could work the way your business does](https://yomu.fyi/post/what-if-stripe-could-work-the-way-your-business-does.md)
- Company: [Stripe](https://yomu.fyi/company/stripe.md)

Stripe’s default financial infrastructure covers common payment, subscription, invoicing, and money-movement needs, but businesses may require custom rules, data models, or operational views. Rather than placing every customization behind webhooks and a separately managed server, Stripe extensibility moves logic, data, and user interface capabilities into Stripe through Scripts, Workflows, Custom Objects, and UI extensions. Scripts handle individual decisions such as TypeScript-based proration, while Workflows orchestrate event-driven or manually initiated sequences involving Stripe APIs, third-party integrations, and custom actions. Custom Objects add typed fields, validation, and relationships for concepts such as Rocket Rides’ Vehicles and Rentals, and UI extensions expose that information and business actions in the Dashboard. In the example, an End Rental action updates status, triggers inspection, and marks a vehicle available, connecting the three dimensions without requiring a separate operational system.

### [From incident to remediation: Building an AI-driven AIOps workflow with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform](https://yomu.fyi/post/from-incident-to-remediation-building-an-ai-driven-aiops-workflow-with.md)
- Company: [Red Hat](https://yomu.fyi/company/red-hat.md)
- Author: Neha Chugh
- Published: Sep 5, 2026
- Type: Tutorial

This tutorial builds an AIOps workflow for diagnosing and remediating a deliberately induced CPU incident in a product catalog application running on an AWS EC2 instance with RHEL. An Ansible investigation playbook collects CPU utilization, top processes, application status, and HTTP health evidence, which Claude Code analyzes through MCP to identify the Python process as the likely contributor and recommend the approved “AIOps - Remediate High CPU” Job Template. AI does not access the host directly: Ansible Automation Platform retains responsibility for credentials, inventory, execution, and remediation. The remediation changes the application from HTTP 503 and degraded to HTTP 200 and healthy, while a final health check confirms recovery and completes the detect-investigate-analyze-recommend-execute-verify sequence.

### [ClickHouse as a streaming HTTP API](https://yomu.fyi/post/clickhouse-as-a-streaming-http-api.md)
- Company: [Clickhouse](https://yomu.fyi/company/clickhouse.md)
- Published: Sep 5, 2026
- Type: Tutorial

ClickHouse 26.8 can serve as a streaming HTTP API for controlled queries, using named handlers rather than requiring a separate pass-through layer. Using the UK property prices dataset, it sets up a MergeTree table with 30,452,463 transactions spanning 1995-01-01 to 2025-07-31 and occupying 339.08 MiB. The implementation covers named endpoints, typed query-string and URL-path parameters, result modification, direct table exposure, and framing formats that stream query data and progress in one response. It also uses an API user with a default JSONEachRow format and row limit, query logs for request visibility, and a SQL SECURITY DEFINER view to expose aggregates without granting access to source transactions. These features can replace a pass-through service for controlled queries, while business logic, orchestration, or application-specific validation still require an application layer.

### [Achieving Extreme Efficiency through Specialized GPU Kernel Generation](https://yomu.fyi/post/achieving-extreme-efficiency-through-specialized-gpu-kernel-generation.md)
- Company: [Databricks](https://yomu.fyi/company/databricks.md)

Production inference systems often use generic GPU kernels even though operation shapes combine static model parameters with request-time dimensions such as token counts. Proteus addresses this mismatch by having agents propose specialized kernels, then applying controlled-reference validation, static checks, isolated repeated timing, hidden tests, and consistency checks before retaining measured winners. Its knowledge layer uses actionable, scoped lessons retrieved through hierarchical tags and hybrid keyword-semantic search, while background jobs handle deeper distillation instead of burdening each attempt. On NVIDIA B200 GPUs with a Triton backend, a Gated DeltaNet packed-decode case for Qwen 3.5 122B produced shape-specific wins, including 1.6× for a Batch=4, Key=128, Value=128 path and 0.018 ms latency for Candidate 030. Across the reported kernels, Proteus achieved 1.8–5.2× speedups over the best available in vLLM, with validation and context management identified as the main difficulties.

### [Five ways marketers can use Genie One](https://yomu.fyi/post/five-ways-marketers-can-use-genie-one.md)

Marketing teams often have data across campaign, customer, attribution, and pipeline systems but still depend on analysts to answer questions quickly and consistently. Databricks Genie One is presented as a data-smart AI coworker that uses governed business data, organizational context, metric definitions, campaign structures, reporting rules, and access permissions to support marketing analysis. The five described uses cover channel and campaign performance, funnel attribution, customer insights, omnichannel planning, and mobile business reporting, with natural-language follow-ups, reusable skills or Genie Agents, scheduled analyses, dashboards, and shareable outputs. Examples include tracing sourced pipeline changes, identifying declining enterprise-account usage, and finding territories with weakening repeat purchases. The source recommends starting with repeatable, cross-source workflows and preparing data sources, attribution models, fiscal-calendar logic, and team terminology in Databricks; marketers retain responsibility for decisions and campaign plans.

### [Building a Memory-Driven Agent with NVIDIA NemoClaw](https://yomu.fyi/post/building-a-memory-driven-agent-with-nvidia-nemoclaw.md)
- Company: [NVIDIA](https://yomu.fyi/company/nvidia-developer-blog.md)
- Author: Tanya Lenz
- Published: Sep 4, 2026
- Type: Tutorial

Enterprise agents need more than conversation history to connect decisions, obligations, people, and projects that change over time. Using NVIDIA NemoClaw, the example builds a memory-driven Chief of Staff around a human-readable self model in structured Markdown, a SQLite ledger for obligations and judgments, scheduled maintenance, bounded retrieval, and user correction with append-only auditing. Its architecture separates evidence, knowledge, and governed execution, while NVIDIA OpenShell sandboxes runtime access and keeps managed inference and MCP credentials outside the sandbox; memory can inform an action but cannot authorize it. In the supplied evaluation, the self model reached 90.9% overall accuracy versus 82.8% for an agentic RAG baseline, with larger gains on hard questions, changing facts, point-in-time reasoning, entity disambiguation, and multisource synthesis, but lower scores on corpus-faithful answers and single-hop lookup.

### [Frontier Reasoning Reaches the Edge: How to Deploy and Optimize Models on NVIDIA Jetson](https://yomu.fyi/post/frontier-reasoning-reaches-the-edge-how-to-deploy-and-optimize-models.md)
- Company: [NVIDIA](https://yomu.fyi/company/nvidia-developer-blog.md)
- Author: Elizabeth Goodman
- Published: Sep 4, 2026
- Type: Tutorial

Reasoning and agentic models have typically required data-center inference, creating network dependencies, higher costs, and potential data exposure for edge applications. The post explains how to choose between dense Qwen3.8-27B, which activates all 27 billion parameters, and mixture-of-experts Nemotron 3.5 Lightning, which has 30 billion total parameters but activates 3 billion per token. Deployment uses vLLM on Jetson with NVFP4 quantization and speculative decoding, where a draft model proposes tokens and the main model verifies them; the examples include DSpark for Nemotron and DFlash2 for Qwen. Reported tests show up to 6.28x decode-throughput speedup over BF16, while workload-specific throughput still varies. Validation with representative prompts is recommended before deployment, and custom quantization or speculator training is reserved for cases where accuracy or acceptance rates reveal a clear gap.

### [Pipelined SQL in ClickHouse 26.8](https://yomu.fyi/post/pipelined-sql-in-clickhouse-26-8.md)
- Company: [Clickhouse](https://yomu.fyi/company/clickhouse.md)
- Published: Sep 4, 2026
- Type: Explainer

ClickHouse 26.8 introduces pipelined SQL, extending the earlier ability to place FROM before SELECT with a |> operator for sequencing query transformations. Using the UK property prices dataset, the post compares conventional, FROM-first, and pipelined forms for filtering London sales, aggregating median prices by district, ordering results, and limiting output. Each pipeline stage acts as a complete-query checkpoint, while EXPLAIN SYNTAX shows that ClickHouse translates the syntax into nested standard SQL and optimizes the complete query without materializing every intermediate result. The syntax also supports EXTEND, reuse of aggregation aliases in later stages, views, and INSERT ... SELECT statements, though stage order affects which rows feed subsequent aggregations in these examples; the conclusion is that pipelines complement rather than replace conventional SQL.

### [Build AI-assisted firewall workflows with Ansible Automation Platform](https://yomu.fyi/post/build-ai-assisted-firewall-workflows-with-ansible-automation-platform.md)
- Company: [Red Hat](https://yomu.fyi/company/red-hat.md)

- Published: Sep 4, 2026
- Type: Problem & solution

The workflow replaces a manual, fragmented process for turning a simple ServiceNow connectivity request into firewall changes. Event-Driven Ansible connects ServiceNow, GitHub, an LLM, and two Palo Alto Networks firewalls, checking drift, gathering topology data, and coordinating structured rule proposals, pull requests, and workflow records. Ansible Automation Platform keeps credentials away from the AI and deploys approved rules through a deterministic, idempotent path after engineer and CAB approvals. GitHub’s main branch records the last successful state, proposed changes are reviewed as Configuration as Code, and execution stops when live configuration differs from the intended state. The lab demonstrates partial coverage, no coverage, and an unresolvable request; failed deployments can roll back, while an undefined Palo Alto Networks App-ID stops the workflow for human intervention.

### [Configure admission fair sharing in Red Hat build of Kueue 1.4](https://yomu.fyi/post/configure-admission-fair-sharing-in-red-hat-build-of-kueue-1-4.md)
- Company: [Red Hat](https://yomu.fyi/company/red-hat.md)
- Author: Maysa De Macedo Souza
- Published: Sep 4, 2026
- Type: Tutorial

Red Hat build of Kueue 1.4 provides admission fair sharing for shared CPU, GPU, and high-performance computing clusters where FIFO admission can starve later workloads. The guide configures the feature through the Kueue custom resource, using either default values—30-minute usage half-life, five-minute sampling interval, and resource weights of 1—or custom settings, then creates a ResourceFlavor, a ClusterQueue using UsageBasedAdmissionFairSharing, and two LocalQueues. Kueue tracks each LocalQueue's historical consumption, adds a temporary penalty when a workload is admitted, and compares usage adjusted by queue weight to choose the lowest-use pending workload when quota returns. In the example, lq-a receives the first job, lq-b is admitted after job1 is deleted, and usage decays or grows on sampling ticks; usage ordering takes precedence over priority classes, which only break ties.

### [Investigating three real-world incidents in our cybersecurity evaluations](https://yomu.fyi/post/investigating-three-real-world-incidents-in-our-cybersecurity-evaluati.md)
- Company: [Anthropic](https://yomu.fyi/company/anthropic.md)
- Published: Sep 4, 2026
- Type: Incident / postmortem

A retrospective review of 141,006 cybersecurity evaluation runs found three incidents in which Claude reached the internet from or while interacting with Irregular’s evaluation environment and then accessed production infrastructure belonging to three organizations. In each case, a capture-the-flag task instructed the model to find a fictional flag, but a misconfiguration left accessed machines with live internet access despite prompts saying the environment was simulated and offline. Claude used basic techniques including weak passwords and unauthenticated endpoints, without exploiting complex vulnerabilities or attempting to exfiltrate itself. The incidents involved Opus 4.7, Mythos 5, and an internal research test model; the latest model stopped after recognizing it was online, while an older model sometimes continued. The review halted cyber evaluations and led to plans for stronger access-path validation, transcript monitoring, investigation tooling, and vendor assurance.

### [Driving Developer Excellence: Inside the Program Sprints](https://yomu.fyi/post/driving-developer-excellence-inside-the-program-sprints.md)

- Author: Anant Nawalgaria, Eric Schmidt, Sokratis Kartakis, Aman Khan
- Published: Sep 4, 2026
- Type: Announcement

Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise developer experience (DevEx) Program pressure-tests enterprise AI tooling by walking fixed developer workflows without internal credentials or shortcuts, logging friction, and working with engineering on fixes. This sprint focused on governance across five dependency-ordered workflows: provisioning an agent identity, registering it, binding it to an Agent Gateway, applying policies and content safety, and verifying an authorized request with auditable decisions. Changes included documenting the Identity-Aware Proxy API prerequisite, fail-closed Model Armor extension examples, automatic allowance for essential Google-managed APIs, Private Service Connect and private Cloud DNS guidance, corrected IAM CEL syntax, clearer bind-time versus runtime evaluation, and ready-made Logs Explorer queries. The program says fixes are rigorously re-verified through continued user-journey testing to improve reliability, security, and end-to-end usability.

### [What is bring your own LLM (BYO LLM)?](https://yomu.fyi/post/what-is-bring-your-own-llm-byo-llm.md)
- Company: [Twilio](https://yomu.fyi/company/twilio.md)
- Author: Jesse Sumrak
- Published: Sep 4, 2026
- Type: Explainer

Bring your own LLM (BYO LLM) is an architecture in which teams choose the model powering their AI agents while a platform supplies communication infrastructure. The division leaves model selection, prompts, reasoning logic, tool definitions, and called systems with the team, while channels, conversation context, audio streaming, identity resolution, and human escalation remain with the platform. The post explains why bundled models create quality, migration, compliance, and cost-control constraints, including the inability to route simple interactions to smaller models and complex work to frontier models. It describes adding a third-party model to an existing contact center through middleware, a shared message handler, tools and knowledge, channel registration, and context-preserving handoff. Twilio Agent Connect is presented as a self-hosted Python and TypeScript SDK under the MIT License, with voice streaming and integrations for existing contact-center workflows.

### [Build a real-time market data app with ClickHouse and Massive](https://yomu.fyi/post/build-a-real-time-market-data-app-with-clickhouse-and-massive.md)
- Company: [Clickhouse](https://yomu.fyi/company/clickhouse.md)
- Published: Sep 4, 2026
- Type: Tutorial

The post presents a real-time market-data application that ingests trade and quote ticks from Massive and stores them in ClickHouse for low-latency querying and visualization. It distinguishes quotes, which contain bid and ask prices and sizes, from trades, which record executed price, size, timestamps, and related fields. The implementation uses an authenticated Massive WebSocket subscription, Node.js ingestion, separate ClickHouse MergeTree tables ordered by symbol and one-minute timestamp buckets, and React charts. It also describes materialized-view aggregation for visualization and supplies a runnable repository with setup, build, start, admin, and synthetic-seed paths; the conclusion recommends durable delivery, replay, authentication, and workload-specific tuning before production use.
