### [Building Jarvis Pro: Route first, answer later](https://yomu.fyi/post/building-jarvis-pro-route-first-answer-later.md)
- Company: [Grab](https://yomu.fyi/company/grab.md)
- Author: Christian Coffrant
- Published: Aug 21, 2026
- Type: Problem & solution

Grab designed Jarvis Pro as an AI assistant for account managers turning complex account data into actionable merchant conversations. Early prototypes generated polished but operationally unsound advice, such as pushing promotions when order drops were caused by outlet pauses and fulfillment issues. To address this, the team implemented a "route first, answer later" design that uses a prompted LLM classification step constrained by a routing guide to dictate context, tool paths, answer structure, and guardrails before generation. The pipeline also isolates narrow memory decisions, reconciles metric freshness across data sources, and caps tool calls to maintain usability. In offline evaluations across 351 realistic prompts, routing matched safe routes 99.4% of the time while answer quality scores in a portfolio subset improved from 78.5 to 91.0.

### [Inbound Private Link now supports account-level Genie One, the account console, and custom URLs](https://yomu.fyi/post/inbound-private-link-now-supports-account-level-genie-one-the-account.md)
- Company: [Databricks](https://yomu.fyi/company/databricks.md)

- Published: Aug 20, 2026
- Type: Announcement

Databricks has expanded Inbound Private Link in Beta on AWS and Azure to cover account-level resources, including account-level Genie One, the account console, Governance Hub, and account-level APIs. The update also supports custom URLs and Managed Disaster Recovery stable URLs, while one shared General Access endpoint in any region can serve workspace and account-level UI and API resources, removing the need for one endpoint per region or workspace. These capabilities use context-based ingress, where account admins define allow and deny rules by caller identity, network source, and destination through account and workspace policies. Enabling private access to account-level resources requires registering and allowlisting a General Access endpoint with the account-policy and resolving the custom URL to that endpoint. Existing workspace-specific URLs, private access settings, and IP access lists continue to work in parallel, while service-direct and SCC relay endpoints retain per-region requirements.

### [Why AI-Generated Code Is Easy but Engineering Trust Is Hard](https://yomu.fyi/post/why-ai-generated-code-is-easy-but-engineering-trust-is-hard.md)

At Salesforce, engineering teams discovered that AI coding agents could produce internally consistent code and passing test suites that still failed to meet actual requirements. To ensure correctness before writing code, the team developed an agentic Spec-Driven Development workflow centered on explicit specifications and gated verification. The system separates evidence-based repository lookups handled by agents from subjective judgment calls escalated to human engineers. Implementation plans must cite repository evidence reviewed by a Skeptic Agent, while a Compliance Matrix traces each success criterion directly to executable test proof. Finally, a multi-agent review system evaluates the implementation under an asymmetric rule allowing an independent judge to downgrade passing checks but never override failed gates.

### [AI Won't Replace Project Managers, But It is Reshaping How Work Gets Done](https://yomu.fyi/post/ai-won-t-replace-project-managers-but-it-is-reshaping-how-work-gets-do.md)
- Company: [Stack Overflow](https://yomu.fyi/company/stack-overflow.md)
- Author: Emim Vigin Lumina
- Published: Aug 20, 2026
- Type: Explainer

Technical project managers historically spend 60 to 70 percent of their working time managing routine coordination tasks, including manual spreadsheet updates and obsolete status reporting. Engineering organizations are addressing this overhead by integrating generative artificial intelligence, large language models, and agentic workflows into delivery pipelines. Automated agents ingest telemetry directly from Git commits, pull request comments, and CI/CD logs to assess system state while machine learning models execute Monte Carlo simulations to forecast delivery risks. Although this automation reduces administrative overhead below 30 percent, implementations face practical obstacles like inconsistent ticket definitions across teams and algorithmic over-reliance on uncontextualized historical patterns. Consequently, technical project managers are transitioning into strategic roles that coordinate hybrid human-agent workforces while providing critical judgment and organizational context.

### [Busting SQL Migration Myths: How New SQL Features Make Lift-and-Shift to Lakehouse Easier](https://yomu.fyi/post/busting-sql-migration-myths-how-new-sql-features-make-lift-and-shift-t.md)
- Company: [Databricks](https://yomu.fyi/company/databricks.md)
- Author: Abhishek Dey, Laurent Léturgez
- Published: Aug 20, 2026
- Type: Tutorial

The post addresses the procedural core of warehouse-to-lakehouse migrations: legacy stored procedures that use temporary tables, cursors, control flow, multi-table updates, and transaction handling while remaining maintained by SQL teams. Using a composite daily-orders procedure based on an Oracle migration, it translates rather than rewrites the logic on Databricks, covering procedure registration in Unity Catalog, session-scoped temporary tables, cursor syntax, handlers, conditional scripting, and atomic transactions. Databricks SQL scripting supports cursors from Runtime 18.1, and BEGIN ATOMIC provides automatic commit or rollback plus row-level conflict detection; catalogManaged tables are required inside atomic blocks. The post says this mechanical translation can cut migration timelines by 50–75% for complex procedures, while preserving business logic and allowing the SQL team to maintain it, though the procedure still needs validation in a migration project.

### [Securing Software at the Speed of AI](https://yomu.fyi/post/securing-software-at-the-speed-of-ai.md)
- Company: [Palantir](https://yomu.fyi/company/palantir.md)
- Author: Palantir
- Published: Aug 20, 2026
- Type: Explainer

Palantir describes how its Product Security Team built an agentic software security strategy around multi-agent review, vulnerability hunting, triage, and runtime validation. The approach treats models as replaceable components within a governed harness that controls tools and data access, preserves evidence, coordinates specialized stages, independently challenges findings, and deduplicates reports using source-to-sink paths. Foundry supplies organizational context and lineage across code, services, findings, decisions, and remediation, while Apollo provides a controlled path for delivering verified fixes across heterogeneous software environments. The strategy positions remediation, rather than vulnerability identification, as the central bottleneck and extends these capabilities through Security Forge, a model-agnostic platform for customer cyber defense.

### [Quantum-Augmented Applications: Integrating Quantum Subroutines into Classical Software Stacks](https://yomu.fyi/post/quantum-augmented-applications-integrating-quantum-subroutines-into-cl.md)
- Company: [Stack Overflow](https://yomu.fyi/company/stack-overflow.md)
- Author: Dr. Ahmad Mateen Ishanzai
- Published: Aug 20, 2026

Quantum-augmented applications treat Quantum Processing Units (QPUs) as targeted coprocessors for NP-hard subroutines rather than standalone computing replacements. Near-term noisy intermediate-scale quantum systems handle tasks like combinatorial optimization, high-dimensional state sampling, and kernel mapping while classical stacks retain business logic and pipeline control. A hybrid runtime architecture routes parameterized ansatz circuits through middleware to the QPU, returning raw measurements for error mitigation and classical optimization. A Python implementation using Qiskit demonstrates this interaction by running a parameterized variational ansatz inside a classical COBYLA minimization loop. Operating this hybrid model requires navigating physical constraints including coherence limits, circuit transpilation latencies, and network bandwidth bottlenecks across the classical-QPU boundary.

### [How Uber, OCI™, and Ampere® Co-Optimized OCI AmpereOne® M A4 Compute](https://yomu.fyi/post/how-uber-ocitm-and-ampere-co-optimized-oci-ampereone-m-a4-compute.md)
- Company: [Uber](https://yomu.fyi/company/uber.md)
- Published: Aug 20, 2026
- Type: Explainer

Uber, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and Ampere co-optimized the OCI AmpereOne M A4 instance family after migrating large workloads from on-premises data centers to Arm-based cloud infrastructure. Early A1 and A2 deployments exposed dual-socket latency, Go performance degradation associated with smaller TLB and cache sizes, and insufficient single-thread performance for Gurobi services. Uber shared workload characteristics and targets that informed AmpereOne M silicon and an OCI FlexSKU, while the teams evaluated frequencies, core counts, deployment models, memory ratios, and storage. For latency-sensitive stateless services, the resulting guidance favors higher-frequency CPUs, about 8 GB per vCore, and virtual machines; throughput-oriented storage systems use parallelism, flexible memory-to-core ratios, and local NVMe or remote block storage according to locality. The collaboration is presented as improving price-performance and supporting energy-efficient, cost-optimized multi-architecture computing at scale.

### [From all-or-nothing to task-based OAuth consent](https://yomu.fyi/post/from-all-or-nothing-to-task-based-oauth-consent.md)
- Company: [Cloudflare](https://yomu.fyi/company/cloudflare.md)
- Author: Miller Vargas
- Published: Aug 20, 2026
- Type: Announcement

Cloudflare introduced OAuth scope customization to replace all-or-nothing consent flows for third-party applications. Previously, users had to approve every requested scope or deny access completely, compelling developers of tools like MCP servers to construct custom pre-consent selection interfaces. With the new feature, developers can designate specific permissions as optional alongside required scopes when configuring an OAuth client. During authorization, users can deselect these optional scopes, while unrequested client scopes remain hidden to maintain task-specific consent screens. Because resulting access tokens contain only the granted subset of permissions, client applications must inspect returned scopes after code exchange rather than assuming full authorization.

### [Up to 3.2x Faster Inference with LFM2.5-DSpark](https://yomu.fyi/post/up-to-3-2x-faster-inference-with-lfm2-5-dspark.md)

- Type: Benchmark

Liquid AI released DSpark draft checkpoints for LFM2.5-1.2B-Instruct, LFM2.5-2.6B, and LFM2.5-8B-A1B, adding speculative decoding with a minimal memory increase. DSpark uses a DFlash-style parallel backbone conditioned on target context features, a lightweight sequential Markov-chain head, and a confidence-scheduled verifier that prunes low-confidence suffixes. The draft models are simplified attention-only networks with five layers and a block of nine, trained for 15 epochs on SFT, chat, code, and function-calling data; each contains roughly 300M parameters. Across five datasets, LFM2.5-2.6B averaged 2.67x speedup on an H100 and 2.27x on an M4 Max, while reducing multi-tool function-calling latency by 57% on average. Greedy decoding remains identical to baseline by construction, and integrations are available in llama.cpp and SGLang, with on-device gains for the 8B-A1B model limited by its current MoE Metal implementation.

### [POSETTE Talk Recap - Postgres Isn't Slow. Your Storage Is](https://yomu.fyi/post/posette-talk-recap-postgres-isn-t-slow-your-storage-is.md)
- Company: [Clickhouse](https://yomu.fyi/company/clickhouse.md)
- Published: Aug 20, 2026
- Type: Benchmark

At POSETTE 2026, Sai Srirampur’s talk examines how storage limits can produce slow ingestion, erratic P95 reads, lagging autovacuum, slower checkpoints, and logical replication lag in large PostgreSQL workloads. The benchmark ran the same 3.3-billion-row, random-UPDATE workload on four local-NVMe clusters and four baseline gp3 EBS clusters, using m6id.4xlarge instances, 64 clients, and 16 worker threads. NVMe reached median 16,030 TPS versus 1,734 TPS on EBS, reduced median latency from 36.9 ms to 4.0 ms, and completed the tested VACUUM and replication-backlog tasks faster. The analysis attributes most of the gap to storage waits rather than CPU work, while the proposed production model combines local NVMe with quorum-based replication, external base backups, and archived WAL for recovery.

### [How Generative Recommenders Are Redefining RecSys at Scale](https://yomu.fyi/post/how-generative-recommenders-are-redefining-recsys-at-scale.md)

Generative recommenders (GRs) recast recommendation as next-item or next-action sequence prediction conditioned on user histories, replacing traditional embedding-similarity objectives and potentially unifying retrieval and ranking. The post presents HSTU, which uses timestamp-ordered interleaved items and actions, SiLU-based attention weighting, relative attention bias, and gating, alongside Semantic IDs, which derive a smaller vocabulary through hierarchical clustering of item embeddings. For production, recsys-examples combines TorchRec, DynamicEmb, Megatron-Core, recommender-specific KV and decoding components, while nv-embedding-cache provides tiered GPU, CPU, and remote embedding storage. On an H100, the Semantic ID path was reported as 1.85x higher in online throughput and 46% lower median latency than SGLang under the stated long-context, beam-search workload, and DLRM v3 reached 99,997 queries/sec.

According to the 2026 Django Developers Survey, ninety percent of respondents incorporate artificial intelligence into their weekly or daily workflows. While agents generate code rapidly, developers remain accountable for understanding, evaluating, and shipping changes within their applications. PyCharm addresses these demands by integrating support for external agents, local models via Ollama and LM Studio, and customizable agent skills across codebases. The IDE maintains version-specific framework assistance, including auto-completion for Django 6.0 template partials, alongside architectural inspection tools and visual diffs. Furthermore, developers can trace application components, inspect API endpoints, execute HTTP requests, and query database migrations directly through built-in tooling.

Software development is experiencing an architectural shift as artificial intelligence agents transition individual contributors into orchestrators and reviewers of automated workflows. Rather than spending effort on manual coding, developers increasingly focus on defining system architecture, guiding agent execution, and managing operational risk through tiered human and agent review loops. The primary bottleneck for agentic systems lies in preparing organizational data so that agents can effectively reason over enterprise knowledge. To address this challenge, Google published an open knowledge format and is adopting agent-driven semantic ontology generation to infer relationships across messy data estates. This evolution transforms ontology building from manual human toil into automated generation, allowing engineers to focus on high-value data curation and strategic system design.

AgentFlo built autonomous AI sales agents to address cart abandonment, unassisted messaging channels, and severe traffic spikes across eCommerce platforms. The system uses the Strands Agents SDK alongside Amazon Bedrock AgentCore to manage intent, recommend products, and execute transactions. Incoming customer communications pass through AWS Fargate before entering AgentCore runtime, which executes model-driven agents inside isolated microVMs with stateful sessions lasting up to eight hours. Tool execution is brokered separately through AgentCore Gateway to ensure operations like cart modifications scale independently from model reasoning. This deployment model enables merchants to launch specialized conversational agents in minutes without pre-provisioning capacity or maintaining custom container configurations.

### [How APRF Helps You Understand Your Email Reputation](https://yomu.fyi/post/how-aprf-helps-you-understand-your-email-reputation.md)

Aggregate Performance Reporting (APRF) is a draft standard for email deliverability feedback backed by contributors from Comcast, Google, and Iterable. It gives senders aggregated, intentionally bucketed signals about message classification—such as inbox or unwanted—and user engagement, categorized as positive, negative, or neutral. It also describes daily JSON reports delivered to a DNS-configured address, with provider-specific bucket definitions optionally documented in extra\_info. Senders can configure a TXT record derived from the DKIM selector and domain, then use the optional sdi attribute and email header to segment results by business, region, campaign, or other values. The sample shows separate classification and engagement data for marketing and transactional segments, while acknowledging that counts are approximate; APRF is not yet adopted by an IETF working group, Comcast sends reports, and Gmail does not yet.
