### [Staying Evergreen: How we automated secure access and repo hygiene in a shared org](https://yomu.fyi/post/staying-evergreen-how-we-automated-secure-access-and-repo-hygiene-in-a.md)

Managing outside collaborator access and stale repositories in a shared GitHub organization becomes harder to keep up with as projects grow. Evergreen is a GitHub App built with native GitHub features—scheduled actions, webhooks, issues, and custom properties—that automates two workflows: quarterly outside collaborator access reviews and stale repository detection and archival. Its design principles are fail secure, revoking access if no one responds, and never destroy anything, keeping archived repos recoverable and every change tracked in issues. The app is a Go webhook server that stores state as JSON files in a controller repo, using git history as the audit trail, and interacts via checklist issues in each repository. Rollout included dry-run mode, overcommunication, Splunk observability, and proactive rate-limit pacing; the pattern is adaptable using native GitHub features.

### [From 2,500 requests to 24: Rebuilding star history without the stargazers](https://yomu.fyi/post/from-2-500-requests-to-24-rebuilding-star-history-without-the-stargaze.md)

The post explains GitHub’s redesign of the stargazers API to provide star history without exposing user identities. The original endpoint returned paginated lists of stargazers, which tools used to reconstruct growth curves by fetching all pages, leading to privacy risks and expensive database queries that counted all stars on each request due to a pagination bug. GitHub first restricted access to stargazer lists to repository collaborators, but this broke tools that needed star history. Collaborating with maintainers and the Star History project, GitHub built a new endpoint that returns up to 30 weeks of daily star counts in a single request with no identities attached. The new endpoint reduces database work by filtering stars by time before aggregation, cutting requests for repositories like react/react from about 2,511 to 24.

### [Building Git infrastructure for agent-scale development](https://yomu.fyi/post/building-git-infrastructure-for-agent-scale-development.md)

GitHub is rebuilding its Git infrastructure to handle agentic development, where agents push millions of commits daily and total activity doubled to 473.3 billion events per month. The current Spokes architecture couples durability with scale by storing full repository copies on local disks and using a quorum for writes, making writes slower as read replicas are added. Key challenges include commit turnaround latency per agent, write throughput up 4.9x year over year, merges contending on a single reference, and CI fan-out multiplying each push into thousands of reads. The new design separates storage from compute, using Azure Blob Storage for durability and lightweight workers for reads, shrinks the critical path by coordinating only reference updates, and moves maintenance off the serving path. Internal benchmarks show up to 35 times higher write throughput with independently scaling read capacity, while preserving existing workflows, branch protections, and audit controls.

### [Cloudflare OS: your company’s agent workspace, managed for you](https://yomu.fyi/post/cloudflare-os-your-company-s-agent-workspace-managed-for-you.md)
- Company: [Cloudflare](https://yomu.fyi/company/cloudflare.md)
- Author: Phillip Jones
- Published: Oct 1, 2026
- Type: Announcement

Cloudflare OS is an open-source agent workspace that connects to company data and systems. The fully managed version lets organizations launch an agent workspace in a few clicks from the Cloudflare dashboard, with control over access, skills, and connected systems. Recent updates add GitHub repository integration, allowing agents to explore codebases, fix bugs, and open pull requests. Google Workspace connectivity now supports reading Gmail, creating drafts, sending emails, and accessing Google Drive. Users can export work to formats like Excel, CSV, PDF, Markdown, or HTML, with Word and PowerPoint export coming soon. The managed service is available via waitlist, while the open-source version can be deployed into your own Cloudflare account.

### [Origin Code Hosting](https://yomu.fyi/post/origin-code-hosting.md)
- Company: [Cursor](https://yomu.fyi/company/cursor.md)
- Published: Aug 17, 2026
- Type: Announcement

Cursor is rolling out Origin, an early-beta code-hosting service for all paid plans, except enterprise organizations whose admins opt out, with repositories, pull requests, code browsing, and GitHub synchronization. Origin-hosted repositories treat Origin as the source of truth: users push through the CLI, while GitHub is not involved; GitHub-synced repositories instead keep GitHub authoritative and mirror changes to Origin in real time. Each repository includes pull-request timelines, commits, checks, file diffs, comments, reviews, and merging, with synced pull requests updating between Cursor and GitHub within seconds. Cursor also places agents alongside code and PRs, allowing them to answer questions, make changes, update pull requests, or push branches, while Vercel, Depot, and Buildkite integrations add preview deployments and CI options.
