ClickhouseAnnouncement
ClickHouse is now a native connection in Notion Custom Agents
Summary
ClickHouse is now a native, preconfigured connection in Notion Custom Agents, allowing agents to access ClickHouse Cloud data without leaving Notion. After an OAuth connection, agents can explore schemas, translate plain-language questions into ClickHouse SQL, run read-only queries, and return results in the workspace. The connection exposes 14 read-only tools covering databases and tables, SELECT queries against ClickHouse and Managed Postgres, and organization, service, ClickPipes, backup, and cost information; users can set each tool to run automatically or require approval. Custom Agents can run on a schedule, including a daily observability report that queries error rates, p99 latency, and request volume from a Managed ClickStack service. The connector is in beta and requires a ClickHouse Cloud service with Remote MCP enabled plus a Notion Business or Enterprise workspace.
Context
The connector is presented as part of ClickHouse’s move toward agentic analytics and the Agentic Data Stack. It brings ClickHouse analytics into the Notion workspace where teams plan, document, and make decisions, while Notion supplies context and collaboration.
Approach / What changed
Notion Custom Agents use a preconfigured ClickHouse connection. Users connect to ClickHouse Cloud with OAuth, select the tools an agent may use, and choose whether each read-only tool runs automatically or requires approval. Agents can generate SQL from plain-language questions, execute queries, return results, and run scheduled reports against ClickHouse or Managed ClickStack services.
Takeaways
The native connection requires no MCP server deployment or URL entry; users select ClickHouse in Notion and complete an OAuth flow.
The 14 exposed tools are read-only, and each can be configured to run automatically or require user approval before execution.
Scheduled Custom Agents can query error rates, p99 latency, and request volume, then write a daily observability summary to a Notion page.
